Firstly this recount was written by Jorja about the Auroa Primary School Cross Country.    This event involved everyone at Auroa Primary School.  The next stage of competition was the Cluster Finals which was held at the Manaia Golf Course.  You can read the details of the event written by Jorja here on her fantastic blog - or you can also read the details about the event written by Madaline from Room One here.

R3 Skittles Experiment

In Room Three last week we were looking at the changes made with Skittles when we dissolved them in water. We looked at changing the water temperature and seeing if that had an affect on the speed of the changes we observed. We then put together iMovies of our experiments and time lapsed them.

This is another example of what we were up to:

R3 Collaborating with students in France

We're very lucky to have contact with students from around the world - one of favourite collaborations has been with the students from Brindas School in France - Aroha was so excited this morning to see this comment on her work left by Timothe from France - can you work out what he was asking and talking to her about?

Hello Aroha !
As promised, there is a first Student from our class who just texted you back in French about one day, here, in Brindas School. Happy reading !

Let us know if you understood everything…
Amitiés.

We've made some wonderful connections all around the world in our time working online through our class page.  One of our favourite collaborations and friendships has been with the students from Brindas School in France.   They have recently updated their great page of work with a new video for us!

You can see the video and visit their fantastic site by clicking on the link here.

MOA Photos's from Jonte - What do you like?

Next term we have our digital awards for our cluster the MOA Awards. One of our students Jonte has been taking a series of photos and thinking about angles and perspective. These are four photos that he is particularly proud of, but there's a challenge, he's only able to put one forward as a finalist. Jonte is looking for some feedback and interested in hearing what you would suggest and why.

Taranaki Survivor: Episode 9

The greatest online student blogging competition, of all time is reaching a critical moment... the two dueling teams are only a short time away from the crucial merge - but someone's about to fall at nearly the final hurdle and become the first member of the 2016 Taranaki Survivor Jury.

Kikorangi have been dominating the competition recently, reducing Whero to only three members - can they regain the initiative or are they about to be on the brink of elimination. Ebony has played immunity idols in two consecutive episodes - will she do so again? Will another 'power-up' be played? Its time for big manoeuvres, key power plays and a last gasp attempt at making the final tribe. Who will succeed? Who will fail - all these questions are about to be answered in the greatest blogging competition of all time: TARANAKI SURVIVOR!

Please note: due to wind conditions during this challenge please be careful with the audio play back of this episode!

In this challenge the teams took alternate turns to knock down the markers belonging to the other tribe. Its nice and simple the first team to knock down ten markers belonging to the other team would claim immunity and avoid the dreaded 'vote off'.
